Business & the Arts Award
The Whistler Arts Council and Whistler Chamber of Commerce are pleased to announce the 8th Annual Whistler Business and the Arts Award. The award recognizes and honours a local business or individual business leader for significant impact on/or contribution to Whistler’s arts and culture community. The recipient individual or company will be announced at the July 2012 Chamber of Commerce Whistler Excellence Awards Event.
The award recognizes a local business for their support of local arts and heritage events and programs in the last calendar year. Support would have been given through sponsorship, volunteerism, professional services or products, marketing or public relations donations, or business leadership that demonstrated support for the arts above and beyond the basic commercial benefits. The recipient will be chosen from a number of businesses nominated by the arts, culture and heritage organizations of Whistler.

2010 - Whistler Question Newspaper received a painting by Joan Baron
2009 - Sue Adams received pottery by Penny Martyn
2008 - Pique Newsmagazine received a painting by Chili Thom
2007 – Nesters Market received a photographic print by Leanna Rathkelly
2006 - Whistler Real Estate Company Limited received a painting by Debra MacArthur
2005 – Rocky Mountain Production Services Whistler received a painting by Sharon Jensen
2003 – Whiski Jack Resorts Ltd. Whistler received a painting by Isobel MacLaurin

This year's recipient of the Business and the Arts Award will be announced at a event held on Friday, July 6, 6:30 – 9:30 pm at The Fairmont Chateau Whistler.
