Chili Thom - Creative Process - Beginners to Intermediate

Course Outline

This workshop will teach you how to jump start your creativity. The instructor will take you through a series of steps to get your idea all the way from a sketch on a napkin to a canvas masterpiece.  It will also help you to define your own unique style, essential to your artistic career.

Bio

Chili Thom born and raised in B.C. An avid skier, hiker and explorer Chili Thom uses linear brushstrokes in acrylics, unique perspectives and saturated colours to capture motion and the passage of time.

Course Material

sketch book
drawing pencils and eraser
palette
palette knife
water container
painting clothes (something you will wear each day.  could just be a painting hoodie)
a few magazines with eye catching images
Paint ( make sure to bring at least 2 choices of each color you bring ie.  pthalo blue and prussian blue, cadmium yellow and indian yellow.  and definitely burnt umber!  the more choices you bring the more diverse your progression will be)
2 - 4 mini canvases  2" or 3"
2  - small canvases  5"x7"ish
2 - medium canvases 10"x16"
1 - large canvas  the size is up to you, but something you think you could paint in class to at least 50% completion
** note**  canvas sizes are just suggestions.  try to keep them all the same format if possible
