David McEown- Intermediate to Advanced Watercolour

Course Outline

This class is intended for students with strong previous experience in watercolour painting who wish to continue painting at an advanced level.  Students will explore essential watercolour techniques exploring the mediums softness as well as its ability to compose crisp, highly defined form.  Studio lesson themes will include, painting the west coast rainforest, rocks and moving water, as well as a lesson on snow. Weather permitting we will do some exercises working directly from nature from our lakeside deck to capture the morning light.

Bio

David McEown a Canadian wilderness artist, through watercolour and the force of nature his paintings emphasize the sense of change. He is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art & Design, a member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour and a 2005 Award Recipient of the prestigious A.J. Casson Medal.
