Whistler Comprehensive Community Cultural Plan Steering Committee

Whistler Municipal Council has engaged the Whistler Arts Council to develop a Comprehensive Community Cultural Plan which, when finished, will include recommendations and strategies to facilitate the emergence of a vibrant cultural life for the resort community.

The Board of the Whistler Arts Council is inviting local Whistler artists to apply for two volunteer seats on a 10 member Steering Committee which will hold monthly meetings from May 2012 through January 2013. The purpose of the Steering Committee is to provide oversight to the planning and consultation process, ensuring that they align with community goals.

Applicants should be practising artists with a strong community orientation, and should be familiar with the challenges and opportunities facing the local arts community. Please include a brief description of your artistic interests, community involvement and reasons for wanting to serve on the Steering Committee.

Whistler Children's Art Festival - Call for volunteers & Canadian Tire money donations.

The Whistler Arts Council is calling on volunteers for the 29th annual Whistler Children's Art Festival, July 14 & 15. If you are interested in volunteering, please click here for more details. The Whistler Arts Council is also accepting donations in the form of Canadian Tire money to help with the cost of supplies for the weekend event. Donations can be sent can be dropped of or mailed to Millennium Place, 4335 Blackcomb Way, Whistler, BC, V0N-1B4.



Whistler Children's Art Festival - KIDS CROSSING Art Exhibit

In celebration of WAC's 30th anniversary, we would like to invite children between the ages of 3–10 years old from across Canada to submit their artwork for the Whistler Children’s Art Festival KIDS CROSSING exhibit.  This exciting opportunity will showcase the work of 30 children from various Canadian provinces viewed by over 3,500 participants.

The Rotary Club of Whistler Millennium issues a “Call for Artists”

Looking for the perfect venue this summer? The Rotary Club of Whistler Millennium invites all local artists to rent a table during its annual “Giant Garage Sale" on July 14th. Located in the underground Creekside parkade, this Saturday event sees excellent traffic due to the Children’s Art Festival happening at Creekside over the same weekend. Submissions invited for new Whistler studio gallery

Penny Eder announces the opening of her new art studio and gallery this spring in Whistler, B.C.

The White Dog Studio Gallery (www.whitedogwhistler.com) will be a “working studio” featuring her popular line of ceramics, tiles and sculpture, along with original paintings, ceramics, sculpture and jewelry by Canadian artists.

The studio gallery will be located at 1074 Millar Creek Road, in Whistler’s “Function Junction” district, 8 km south of Whistler Village. The opening date for the White Dog Studio Gallery is targeted for early spring 2012 and will be announced shortly.

Artists from the Sea to Sky corridor interested in representation are invited to contact the White Dog Studio Gallery.

Scotia Creek Gallery at Millennium Place

The Whistler Arts Council is accepting submissions from artists on an ongoing basis to exhibit their work in the Gallery space located up stairs in Millennium place. Artists can apply both for solo or group shows . Whistler's only public art space is located in the heart of Whistler Village.

Millennium Place is offering space for Artists as well as Art and Cultural based community groups at special rates. Please contact us for more details.

Artists/Instructors/Program Leaders: Have you wanted to teach others your craft? Have you dreamt about running a day or afterschool program or do you have a good idea for a 1-2 day workshop but don’t have anywhere to host it?

The Whistler Arts Council is looking for artists, instructors and community groups who would like to run or hold art-based classes, workshops and community programs at Millennium Place. WAC is able to help facilitate your ideas through the use of our rooms, theatre, gallery and foyer as well as through marketing and promotion. If you have an idea for a workshop or program please feel free to call us to see how we can help (each of the workshops will be evaluated on a case by case basis and offers may vary dependant upon room availability, program type etc.)
